Seen Through The Veils Of Darkness (2nd Spell) is GEHENNA`s first full-length album which was originally released in 1995. They kept their characteristic sound intact, yet stepped each and every element of their sound up a notch or two. The highly melodic sound which has over the years become one of the band`s trademarks, presents itself refined with subtle details.

For the first time, GEHENNA dare to incorporate fast-paced passages into their songs too.

One of the best new developments in American black metal, Geist of Ouachita is the work of one Roanake, who numbers nearly a dozen other projects the past three years, some of them even cross-continental. Verdun,1916 expands heavily into the precise combination of martial sound collage and cold mechanical noise fog, supposedly created through archival interviews with veterans, members of GOH travelled to the old battlefields for field recordings, scrapping war objects along the side of the old bullet holed pill boxes and collected fragments of shrapnel, helmets, belt buckles, rations, casings etc. creating hand-made metal percussion and crude art brut electrical conductors.

One of the few or only current industrial collectives that follows in the tradition of the early avant-garde while expanding further into chemical ambience delivered with the neutrality of a doomed soldier’s field side doctor.

Compared to the sheer brutality of ‘Angrep’, ‘I utakt med verden’ is quite the opposite.
If Angrep was the war, ‘I utakt med verden’ is conceptually the time after a lost one, where we lick our wounds and count our dead. Slowed down.  Someone said that listening this album was like being trapped under water, and there was no chance to breathe air until the end of it.

Svekkelse continues where the previous album Livskramper quit, but this time, the band has turned it all up a notch. The band never worked with their compositions with such an intensity before.
The eight songs presented goes from epic to deranged, from technical to primitive, and from sheer passiveness to outraged despair.
The lyrics are inspired by dark local lore and legends, both self experienced and learned. This might be the strongest album by Gjendød to now, again draped by the crushing sounds of the infamous NordStern studios.
