Verdun,1916 expands heavily into the precise combination of martial sound collage and cold mechanical noise fog, supposedly created through archival interviews with veterans, members of GOH travelled to the old battlefields for field recordings, scrapping war objects along the side of the old bullet holed pill boxes and collected fragments of shrapnel, helmets, belt buckles, rations, casings etc. creating hand-made metal percussion and crude art brut electrical conductors.
One of the few or only current industrial collectives that follows in the tradition of the early avant-garde while expanding further into chemical ambience delivered with the neutrality of a doomed soldier’s field side doctor.
The scarlet plague, the temple quarantined, the foundation upholding the pestilence, the betrayal, the market without vendor, the shrine without idol.
Originally released on limited 4xcs, this proper 2XLP version presented on vinyl for the first time has been mixed and remastered in proper form while still holding dear the decay of the original cassettes. like the difference of opening a dusty cabinet in the kitchen of your grandparents to find a shelf full of expired foods. now, this version is like opening the door to the cellar and being overwhelmed with thick dusty air, the planes of lights pouring through the cracks and draping you like temple veils at night.
The alchemic trilogy has finally been concluded. the cauldron is frothing in full force. These recordings were originally presented on three separate EP’s, each showing a different side from the project. from lo-fi dungeon explorations to medieval astral projections, this collection offers a wide variety of sounds and stories for your nightly inner explorations or journeys into the vast, cold unknown.
To complete the full experience, additional unreleased recordings have been added to this collection under the name of ‘waldgeistär,’ delivering all the ingredients needed for this intoxicating potion. the blood of the dragon, the black streams, the ashes of souls, and the ghosts from the woods. drink the darkness, and listen to DARK MUSIC!
Originally issued as a cassette EP, ‘pIague harvest’ encrypts the further transformation into pure dark ambience. Field recordings yanked from the trees like dead leaves mix with streams of electronics running beneath the soil. Included also is a bonus 10” of ‘ruination, a new dawn cometh,’ which was previously only available digitally, exposing again a precursor and foreshadowing of this cautionary tale that what sustains life can easily grow to smother it.
the masterful new album from oId tower. Traditional and yet alien, the deconstruction of regression as transformation from man to beast, which conceptually was felt throughout the project’s wanderings but steps forth fully from the shadows on ‘the old king of witches.’ Shaving down to the bone and trimming the fat of the carcass to incant without rest and without resolution, oId tower resurrects the dying breed of dark ambient with ’90s deep electronics to conceive of a new form of DARK MUSIC.
Despite being created over a decade ago for a controversial limited double cassette and then compiled on ‘it stands to conceal’ this is patient esoteric cold industrial perfectly suitable for our end times.
A cult was built around these this truly ominous original tape with slowed down mega-apocalyptic drone drum contemplations.
Despite being created over a decade ago for limited double cassette and then compiled on ‘it stands to conceal’ this is long form esoteric cold industrial perfectly suitable for our accelerating global amnesia.
