Two different artists await us on this split recording. Erzfeynd convinces with hateful vocals, devil worship and above all with melodic parts that like to stick in your head. Ironically, one could call this an Erzfeynd anthem. Between the songs a more progressive work awaits us, which really wants to overwhelm – just like the complete work, born of shadows, fire and misery.
On the other side it will be rough and barren. As usual, Celestial Sword promise Raw Black Metal but also Dungeon Synth elements with cold atmosphere. One of the songs even reminds of Saturnalia Temple with its clear hypnotic vocals – just great for anyone who wants to enter that darkness and manifest within.

The veterans Mightiest, hailing from Freiburg, or rather from the western Black Forest, are not known to everyone. The guys from Mightiest have been involved in the black metal underground since the early 90s. With “The Recreation of the Shadowlands” a melodic black metal masterpiece accompanied by ambient/dungeon synth elements was created. There are epic moments in the guitar riffs that cast a spell and bring out the darkest chambers of your soul.

Depressive Silence enjoy a much larger fan base, especially since many of their releases served as a precursor and source of inspiration for countless dungeon synth projects (of course not only) and still serve to this day. Even then, RAL and B.S. had a preference for theatrical, melancholic and dreamy keyboard sounds

Black Metal

Púca’s bestial carnage is about battles, ancient kingdoms and prehistoric primitivism, which is evident in Lord Bill’s skill and special interpretation of this genre. Púca delivers a unique take on black metal, channeling inspiration from the likes of Nidhogg/Ildjarn, Bathory, Falkenbach and Isengard. This is a compilation of both demos – the untitled one and “Of Rot and Rainfall”.

Schrecken is the incarnation of primal dreams and the ancient evil. A thousand voices from the abyss of feverish illusions and from paths beyond sleep and death are howling, as the narrow hallway to an apocalyptic end closes and just hollowed darkness remains. 3 songs will lead you through oceans of nocturnal horrors, as oaths and curses break and fade.

Erzfeynd is an aural vessel for vintage Devil worship. As opposed to endless fables of conquest and slaughter, this shall serve as a meditation on the descent into tartarean and empyrean darkness, through pathways of the body and the soul. These 3 songs are an account of the magick of dreams, an ephemeral glimpse beyond the veil and a subconscious accord with Satan far from the distractions of tellurian madness. Here we prepare for the grand sacrifice as we open the SOMNIARKANVM.

A band which, albeit existing for a mere few years, would create a masterpiece of Polish underground black metal. Taking their rightfull place in the history of the genre, Taranis are now considered to be pioneers of Polish Black Metal along with acts such as Xantotol, Christ Agony, Graveland and Behemoth. Where as other bands of the scene would take inspiration from Rotting Christ, Sarcófago or Bathory, Taranis instead took their source of inspiration from the works of Swiss black metal act Samael and the dark poetic art of Polish writer and practitioner of gnostic mysticism, Tadeusz Miciński. Devoting the entirety of “The Obscurity” to Miciński and all those following a similar path of dark arts and mysteries, the time has come to let this darkness blossom again.

From rain whipped cove to the ominously silent woods and descending deep into azurite stained labyrinthine crawling mines below. As the wheels of time creak ever slower and their cycle turns back. This was the final conjuration upon that cove. The tides are turning….
