Aethyrick (FIN) – Pilgrimage LP €26.88
Black Metal
By now, Aethyrick should require little introduction. Since their formation in 2016, the duo of Gall and Exile have begun a meteoric ascent in the black metal underground that’s culminated in three increasingly celebrated full-lengths for The Sinister Flame: 2018’s Praxis, 2020’s Gnosis, and last year’s Apotheosis. While such a feverish release schedule would otherwise suggest a mindset of quantity over quality, nothing could be further from the truth for these Finns: Aethyrick have boldly and confidently etched a unique headspace all their own, bountifully brimming with magick and mysticism simultaneously aeons-old and strikingly modern. That they’ve been able to be comfortable enough in that skin to summon creations seemingly so effortlessly is perhaps more amazing than their already-sturdy aesthetic.

Agalloch (USA) – Pale Folklore DELUXE DLP €44.88
Black Metal
Although ‘Pale Folklore’ stands as Agalloch`s debut record, it already embodies several elements that later became part of the band`s signature sound. Effortlessly picking up from their excellent demonstration cassette, it sees the band refining their sound even further. An audio amalgamation combining the profoundness of early Ulver, with the gloom of old Katatonia and the exalted boldness of Fields of the Nephilim, thus adding unique elements of nostalgia and atmosphere to their own melodic interplay of guitars and excellent musical framework. The album contains strong signs of a band that knew at a young age how to draw their canvas. Influenced by the landscapes of the American Pacific Northwest, and with an essence reminiscent of the Scandinavian wilderness, it firmly put Agalloch on the map and raised eyebrows about what a band from North America can be capable of.
Double 180g Vinyl, Triple Gatefold sleeve with golden print, golden interior print, 12-page LP-sized booklet, double vinyl in black poly-lined inner-sleeves.

Agatus (GRE) – Dawn Of Martyrdom LP €26.88
Black Metal
Originally released in 1996 on the short-lived Hypervorea label – who also released pivotal debut LPs by the likes of Legion of Doom, Order of the Ebon Hand, and Zemial, which likewise included both brothers of AGATUS – Dawn of Martyrdom brimmed with fantastical heavy metal magick. Granted, its canvas was large the black metal of the times, particularly the Greek variant – hypnotic palm-muted riffing, distinctly hummable linear progressions, tasteful (and well-timed) integration of synths, a mystical atmosphere coating it all – but AGATUS’ flair for drama exploded with a sense of purpose and power across all 50 minutes of this engrossing experience. And while their two albums thereafter – 2002’s The Weaving Fates and 2016’s The Eternalist, the latter released by HELLS HEADBANGERS – saw the duo moving closer into pure heavy metal and even prog territories, Dawn of Matyrdom offers an effervescent snapshot of simpler days, of glorious times and mystery & mysticism.

Albionic Hermeticism (UK) – Nova Nativitas Mundi LP €28.88
Black Metal
“By command of the Hermetic Order of Ytene, “Nova Nativitas Mundi” is a majestic, soaring and Diabolical Black Metal space opera in 3 acts.
In Act 1 the listener follows the journey of the royal alchemist, Myrddin, as he is appointed his holy mission to, one way or another, set the ball rolling on the formation of a new Galactic Imperium in the name of the king. The King has long viewed the distant astral bodies as a means to connect with divinity, and now after communion with what he perceives to be Jesus Christ, he sees it as his destiny to reach them and become a godlike figure himself.
In Act 1 Myrddin develops his unholy formula to propel man to the stars and reach the neutron star that the king perceives to be his portal to divinity.
In Act 2 the listener follows Myrddin and his crew to the stars, where they reach the neutron star to find only that it is no such thing. The crew is sucked into a wormhole and greeted not by divinity, but by Satan himself. It was he that visited the king that fateful night, A diabolical trick by the prince of darkness to tempt the once holy men into the construction of a new Galactic Imperium, but not in the name of a divine god king, but in the name of dark and powerful entities.
In Act 3 the listener follows the crew as they undergo this iniquitous task, by first constructing a cosmic temple to Satan, where worship and sacrifice will replace life on earth with the rule of galactic satanic worship and eventually the formation of the final Galactic Imperium.”In stock

Alcest (FRA) – Écailles De Lune LP €28.88
Black Metal
The second album by the pioneers of post-black metal
Three years after their genre-defining record “Souvenirs D’un Autre Monde”, Alcest return to the sound of black metal on their sophomore “Écailles De Lune”, but without forgetting any of their trademarks: calm passages, massive slabs of guitars, catchy melodies, and hook-lines going straight to the heart. “This time I was especially inspired by the seaside, the energy and the exaltation you can feel when you sit in front of the sea at night,” Neige tries to describe the album’s atmosphere. “It appears terribly fascinating, full of secrets and scary at the same time.”

Alcest (FRA) – Souvenirs D’un Autre Monde LP €28.88
Black Metal
Released in 2007, Alcest’s debut album, “Souvenirs d’un autre monde”, marks the starting point of the band’s extraordinary career.
With the release of “Souvenirs d’un autre monde”, Alcest mastermind Neige forged a luminous new sound that floats on the fringes of metal, yet incorporates emotions of euphoria, bliss and nostalgia. The singer and multi-instrumentalist dedicated the album to his childhood memories of experiences in a spiritual otherworld; personal themes that would become conceptual cornerstones of subsequent Alcest albums.
“Souvenirs…” became known as one of the fundamental releases of the Blackgaze / Post-Black Metal genre, a record that continually influences countless other bands in its wake, and was selected by Pitchfork as one of its “50 Best Shoegaze Albums of All Time”.

Algaion (SWE) – Oimai Algeiou LP €26.88
Black Metal
Released in 1995 by the pivotal Full Moon Productions, Oimai Algeiu was underground black metal for underground black metallers. Not kowtowing to increasingly trendy Scandinavian sounds, no “romance” or gothic or vampires, and definitely no mosh nor no fun: ALGAION here created a surging and windswept landscape on which to paint dark desires and honor that Hellenic pantheon. It was a raw landscape, to be sure, but one contemporaneous with their Greek brethren and duly emitting a perhaps-colder atmosphere than the duskiness usually associated with that scene. However, above all, it was the songwriting itself which put Oimai Algeiou amongst that hallowed company, pulsing with a simple-yet-sublime melodicism and never-forgotten heavy metal spirit, all dusted with just the right amount of melancholy and the subtlest hint of synth.
