With “Songs Of Moors And Misty Fields” (1997), Schwadorf perfected his dark Metal full of classical Romanticism and traditional folklore. The album relates back to the band’s debut “A Wintersunset …”, but also delivers the blue-print for their later development into more tranquil folk sceneries.

With their sixth full-length, “Über den Sternen”, an allegorical German rendering of their band name meaning “Above the Stars”, EMPYRIUM still draw from the magic and spirits of wild places, nature’s beauty, and human relics of ages long past. “Über den Sternen” echoes this reconciliation of the old with the new on a musical level as well. The Franconian duo is putting more emphasis on the electric guitars and harsh vocals again, which marked their first two albums and stood strong upon the band’s melodic black metal foundations. Yet EMPYRIUM also revisit the dark folk style, which the Germans had progressively embraced on their third and fourth albums.

Following their critical acclaim-afforded and cathartic “Konkurs” in 2008, these elusive and mysterious misanthropes venture down an even more daring path with “Sjukdom” where the extremes of the characteristically idiosyncratic Lifelover sound are pushed to their utmost limit: the bittersweet melodies become more beautiful whilst the pulsing, coal-black heaviness becomes uglier. After the tragic death of B in September 2011, this is Lifelover’s final studio album.

Secrets Of The Moon’s debut album “Stronghold Of The Inviolables” from 2001 is considered a milestone of German Black Metal. This new edition in a noble Digipak CD also contains the complete recording session for “Thelema Rising” with mostly unreleased tracks.

Neofolk / Acoustic

Merely eight months after their recent studio album ‘Maaäet’, Tenhi present the piano-dominated ‘Airut:Aamujen’, the next chapter in the band’s own ‘Airut’ saga in autumn 2006. The album is the sequel to Tenhi’s ‘Airut:Ciwi’ EP (2001), especially to the track ‘Kielo’. It was originally released in a small limited edition through Tenhi’s own Utustudio label in December 2004 under the name Harmaa.
