Without initially even putting out any form of demo, BORKNAGAR’s first and by now “cult” self-titled album was recorded at Bergen’s legendary Grieghallen Studios for the underground label Malicious Records from Germany, who released it in 1996. Next to Øystein G. Brun, “Borknagar” featured the likes of Garm (Ulver, ex Arcturus) doing the vocals, drummer Grim (ex-Immortal, Gorgoroth and Ancient), Ivar Bjørnson (Enslaved) on keyboards and bassist Infernus (who played in Gorgoroth). The overall press reaction was extremely positive, with media and fans alike praising the highly original and fresh approach of the group.

Formed in 1992, Umeå, Sweden’s black metal nihilists NAGLFAR were quite prolific at the front of their existence. After releasing their classic debut “Vittra” in 1995 it only took them until 1998 to unleash “Diabolical”. Century Media Records is making both of their quintessential first two albums available again. The 2023 Re-issues will come with liner notes and remastered by by Dan Swanö at Unisound (Opeth, Insomnium, Asphyx and many more). Both are available as LP with a 4p LP booklet in coloured 180g vinyl, Ltd. Digipak CD and Digital Album.

This new edition of the Swedish Black/Death Metal masterpiece has been newly re-mastered for vinyl by legendary producer Dan Swanö and both the LP and the new CD version feature an unreleased bonus track, a great sounding 1996 demo version of the song “Awaken Chaos” which later appeared on their 2nd album “The Coming Of Chaos” (1997). Both releases have been remastered for vinyl by Jaime Gomez Arellano as in the long sold-out LP out box set “Trolsk Sortmetall” (2014) and – just as the latest 2019 reissues – come in gatefold sleeves and on 180gr heavy coloured vinyl. The “Bergtatt” 4page LP-Booklet includes a detailed written interview with Ulver’s mastermind Kristoffer Rygg and the “Kveldssanger” 8page LP-Booklet includes sheet notes of the song “Ulvsblakk”.
