Featuring the talents of Italian multi-instrumentalist Omega (Fides Inversa, Chaos Invocation, Blut Aus Nord, Kult, Frostmoon Eclipse, Martröð) handling all instruments as always, and Norwegian voice of Death; Wraath (Behexen, Dark Sonority, Mare, Celestial Bloodshed, Kaosritual and One Tail, One Head) handling the main vocal duties. Darvaza is indeed an unholy alliance forged in decay. After three EP’s via Terratur Possessions from Norway; “The Downward Descent” (2015), “The Silver Chalice” (2016) and “Darkness In Turmoil” (2018), it’s time for their debut full length, entitled “Ascending Into Perdition”! The album shows a natural progression for the band, with more focus on production and a varied, dynamic tracklist without ever straying away for what was always the foundation of the band;

Therefore this is more of a pact between the void and the forbidden, leaving no room for light or hope for all life.
This album was manifested through the will of tormented spirits that made themselves know through Magick and communication with the deceased. This, therefore, opens forth the Left-Hand Path and the bleak passageway into the utter blackness of deaths abyss past the point of no return, so that all forbidden truths are relieved.

Building upon that grand fortress is a four-song/22-minute mini-album likewise truly titled: The Oath of the Black Wolf. Here, ORGREL have gone a-hunting, their ’90s black metal classicism stalking and striking with a hunger only hinted at previously. Still, fueled by this fire they may be, the Italians across this mini manage to maximize their epic side, with the predecessor’s flat-yet-full soundfield now becoming slightly more chromatic in the process. Lead lines portend dark truths, ever building in tension and then grandeur, but the record’s swift-yet-satisfying runtime reveals the darkest, most intrinsic truth: black metal doesn’t need to “become” anything when it already IS.
