“The Fading Rays of the Weeping Moon” is a compilation of both “The Fading Rays of the Sun” EP (2009) and “The Weeping Moon” EP (2007-2008). As a bonus it also has the Drowning the Light track from the split 7″ with Acherontas (recorded during the same session as “The Fading Rays of the Sun”) as well as the demo tracks of “The Weeping Moon”, recorded before the EP and used as the basis for the EP.

This is the very first Drowning the Light demo, recorded in 2003 and originally limited to 3 copies. It has never been released publicly, nor was it ever intended to be, as the re-recorded versions of the songs from the second demo and found on “The Longing” compilation are of much better quality, but after 20+ years and countless fake versions online (it has never leaked, only fools putting up entirely different music and lying by claiming it is this demo), it was time to embrace the primitive spark that ignited the flame that is DTL.
The audio on this CD was taken from one of the only tapes that exists, which itself had a lot of decay from the years as well as being poorly recorded in the first place, so there is some a skip or two, and some sound defects, so it is not a flaw in the CD but the recording itself. This one is for the diehard fans who wish to have a glimpse into the past. This is not for everyone.

Here, DRUADAN FOREST deliver two epic-length tracks of the purest, most fantastical dungeon synth. Unlike so many two-note/one-loop charlatans, V-Khaoz’ dungeon synth creations are symphonies unto themselves, neither understated nor overstated, with fugue-like compositions revealing a wealth of adventure and mystery equally.
