With “Stronger Than Before,” Rock-O-Rama Records brings a piece of music history back to the turntable: Brutal Attack’s legendary debut LP, released in 1986 on Herbert Egoldt’s Brühl-based label, is now officially available on vinyl for the first time in 39 (!) years. Brutal Attack—then consisting of Ken (vocals), Paul (bass), John (guitar), and Tony (drums)—delivers exactly what the title promises on this album: heaviness, pathos, and a blend of Oi!, punk rock, and martial self-image. The production is raw, direct, and straightforward—recorded in Mark Sutherland’s studio, where artists like Skrewdriver and Public Enemy also recorded their albums.
