The band’s earliest efforts were extremely raw and punk-oriented, but it was with 2007’s Finnish Steel Stormwhere GOATMOON truly came into its own, exhibiting a sense of refinement rarely heard in such hateful-yet-epic black metal whilst retaining its core identity, and a title by which BlackGoat Gravedesecrator has fulfilled on all successive recordings. Of them, the subsequent third and fourth albums – 2011’s Varjotand 2014’s Voitto tai Valhalla, respectively – saw GOATMOON continue that refinement with equally compelling results, and in the process garner a more fanatic fanbase…and further infamy.

Long an infamous name in underground circles, GOATVULVA formed in Finland in 1989 as a solo-project/side-distraction. With the band’s creations booze-fueled and spur-of-the-moment, many recordings are rumored to exist, and dates of release are entirely speculative. However, it is with absolute authority that the legendary Blasphemous Sexfago demo came first, in 1990 – and fittingly so, its title furthering the inspiration/influence of Sarcofago’s earliest (and best) works, and in effect serving as a secondary inspiration/influence for later legions delving into the deepest recesses of the bestial arts. That same year next brought Rehearsal ’90, with a flurry of demos following the next few years: chronologically Baphometal, Capella, Crucifixus, and Erotic Worship, the first- and last-named also serving as unwitting influences many years later for those wishing to explore the gutter of bestial/experimental black-noise morbidity.

Formed in 1993 and hailing from Monaco, Godkiller was the vision of multi-instrumentalist & sole founding member, Duke Satanaël, who between 1996 and 2000 released an EP and 2 studio albums under the Godkiller name, commencing with the black metal cult classic debut ‘The Rebirth of the Middle Ages’.

Though initially more a death metal inspired act in the formative years, Godkiller quickly evolved into a project fully engulfed in the spirit of 1990s black metal, bringing to mind acts like Emperor and Satyricon for the implementation of such strong atmospherics, though on later releases Godkiller incorporated more industrial and electronic elements into the compositions as part of its creative evolution.
