With “Lumi Vaientaa Kysymykse” we can see still some elements of recent CoO albums, with a lot of soothing, shoegazing melodies passing through, however the pace is rather toned down into a more dragging and Doomy pace, often reminiscing with Katatonia, both in tempo as melody wise, and with an approach more akin to records like “Kuuhun Kahlittu” and some part which are particularly metallic and acrid, such as the beginning of the second track, almost closer to Atvar’s work under Kêres. The Post-Punk basslines however are still always there creating their own shamanistic, hypnotic sound, as well as the feverish experimentalism characteristc of 70s and 80s Psych and Folk rock and adjacent much present in the keyboards and daring, outsider guitarwork, particularly in “Lankeemus”.

Composed during the pandemic-induced lockdown period of 2020/2021, “Isolation” features some of ColdWorld’s most expressive compositions to date. Managing to transcend the conventional sounds pursued in what is best described as the “ambient/depressive” black metal subgenre, ColdWorld’s newest sonic endeavor draws listeners into an incredibly immersive soundscape, rife with lush classical instrumentation and ethereal, yet occasionally harrowing vocals.

Collier d’Ombre transcends musical boundaries, seamlessly blending genres, all while etching its essence with a profound and audacious Black Metal identity. Each track intricately carves through stylistic barriers, creating a sonic landscape that defies convention. The flesh of this album bears the marks of the deepest Black Metal roots, boldly intertwining tradition with inventive expression.

They don’t need any introduction! This double LP has been left as it was originally composed, It has not been remastered, so it has retained the rotten sounds of the demos. This is to better preserve that “sin of youth, adolescent” that we old people who have NEVER changed our minds, like so much.

This is where it all began, the 1994 debut which shook the European Black Metal scene upon its foundations.
Originally released on cult imprint Cacophonous Records, CRADLE OF FILTH first album is now available for the first time over a decade on noble vinyl but also on picture vinyl, digibook-CD and tape. While still bearing few traces of their Death Metal roots, The Principle Of Evil Made Flesh remains an unique sounding album to this day, drenched in gothic atmospheres and vampiric themes. A true masterpiece which immediately spawned many imitators, although none managed to match their intensity and undeniable British flair.

Although it had a very troubled birth, all detailed in the liner notes included with those different versions here, CRADLE OF FILTH almost-album-length 1996 EP V Empire, Or Dark Faerytales In Phallustein proved to be a superb triumph over adversity. Despite all their legal problems, line-up changes and insane pressure after the gigantic success of their debut album, the Brits nevertheless managed to write and record a slab of new even grander songs, next to a new version of the already classic ‘The Forest Whispers My Name’, some would argue even bettering their debut in the process.

As Musta Surma, the duo of Thyrgrimmr and Strigoi Mort have spent the better part of 25 years releasing demos, EPs, and splits but never a full-length record, with rumors frequently abounding about the band’s status, unreleased recordings, and general air of elusiveness. However, what Musta Surma lack in quantity, they more than make up for it it in quality: dirty-yet-mystical black metal time-locked in the ’90s, a veritable portrait of Dorian Gray forever covered in the ashes of the past.
