The next all-out attack from the remote expanses of Australian skinhead rock! With “Reckless Aggression,” Australian skinhead/Oi! punk band White Noise delivered a live album on Rock-O-Rama Records in 1990 that blurred the lines between heavy punk, hardcore, and the unleashed elemental force of skinhead rock. The first few seconds of the album are like a punch in the face – a merciless, angry performance that makes it clear from the very first note that this band has no intention of conducting diplomatic peace negotiations. White Noise’s musical roots are deeply embedded in the world of Oi! and punk rock, but “Reckless Aggression” goes one step further. The sound is reminiscent of the wild days of Motörhead – with a mixture of dirty rock ‘n’ roll and uncompromising hardcore that tears down everything in its path. In addition to music, this is also about an attitude, a mindset that swings through the record grooves like an imaginary wrecking ball.

Lunar Spells is a Greek black metal band formed in Athens in 2020, by Cryptic (guitar, vocals, synths), K.C.H (bass) and V.T (drums). Both musically and lyrically, Lunar Spells stays close to the roots of Scandinavian “old school” black metal. Lyrical subjects thus often deal with darkness, depression, misanthropy and hate. After their first EP recording Medieval Shadows from an Ancient Netherworld (2020), the line-up was augmented by Atxak on vocals, and the group recorded their debut full length album Where Silence Whispers.

Negros Manifestos de Ordem Venusiana, a split LP presented on noble vinyl, to honor the ancient ways.
Indeed, both hordes wholly honor the ancient ways, and understandably are two of the mightiest and most respected hordes in Portugal’s nowadays raw black metal scene.
Negros Manifestos de Ordem Venusiana is something of an intergenerational pairing, however, as MONS VENERIS have been prolifically polluting the underground since 2003 while ORDEM SATANICA, by comparison, started their near-equally prolific onslaught in 2014.
Nevertheless, as representatives of the Portuguese Black Metal, here on Negros Manifestos de Ordem Venusiana do both hordes create provocative portrayals of their unique darkness and despair.
ORDEM SATANICA are on Side A and unfurl three haunting and medieval tracks, roaming the castle with that spectral rawness they’ve truly made their own the last few years.
MONS VENERIS are on Side B and offer an epic, side-long track that roams the rawest dungeons, spanning punkish bash and hypnotic hysteria alike, torrents of noise to ruin your soul.

RUTTOKOSMOS are one of the great “what if?”s of Finnish black metal. The band formed sometime in 2003 and released the five-song Ja minä näin kuoleman demo in 2006 and then the six-song Kärsimys demo a year later. Afterward, nothing was heard from RUTTOKOSMOS ever again. Only one member concurrently played in Divina Inferis, and the other two members either disappeared and played pseudonymously in other bands.
