Snowland is cold, really cold, pure, lo-fi in the extreme, achieving the very first goal of what Sorcier Des Glaces wanted to evoke in the eyes of the world. Expressing disgust with the human race by exiling himself to its own snowland, the melodies evoke a certain romanticism of the great Nordic forests. He is then alone to begin his reign on his night’s throne.

This monument of misanthropy was created, carved and crystallized during many nights, Anno MMXVII & MMXVIII at Hell Studio, Québec.
It reflects all the hate and disgust Sorcier Des Glaces has for the human race. This cold and desolate journey should be most experienced done in the dark, with only the feeble light of a chandelier. No keyboards were used on this whole sound capture, all the ice-layers were executed with REAL instruments.

Now, to round out the ruinous year of 2022, it is here, bearing the title Requiem. Indeed something of a lament, feeling fixed and finite, SPECTRAL CORRUPTION’s latest full-length bristles with a despair that can only suggest infinite misery, malodorous and miasmic: a vacuum of violence where melodic/majestic riffing gets broken down and blown out. Mainman Verminitar (also of Cryptic Vampire and Spheral Void) howls into that vacuum, drunk on his own power/misery but drowning within it all the same. That he ends the album with a Lamp of Murmuur cover indeed underlines SPECTRAL CORRUPTION’s place within this uprising of modern RAW black metal.

The Canadian maniacs in Starcave Nebula deliver a long track of blistering, ultra-lo-fi, acidic and psychotropic Improv Raw Black Metal mayhem, with askew, mind-warping riffage, and pummeling drum performance that absolutely annihilates and demolishes your ribcage .

Trhä’s first two songs offer some of their most orthodox release to date, following a more traditional approach.
Trhä still never by any means loses its magical character, otherwordly atmosphere or spirit.
These tracks follow more along the line of the “Mã Héshiva…” and “Vat gëlénva​!​!​!” albums, with influences from bands such as Mütiilation, Mystic Forest or Manierisme.
The third track however features again a more fairytale atmosphere, with the addition of the pop-ish, upbeat synthesizers that appear in “Tálcunnana…” or “Endlhëdëhaj…”

After 25 years of activity, StarGazer has firmly established itself as one of the most enduring Black/Death bands in the Australian extreme metal scene. And although they have remained continuously productive during the last quarter-century, their output is sparse, owing to the band’s meticulous approach to writing and recording. Consequently, the release of every StarGazer album is a momentous event. Recorded during the early stages of the Great Reset, “Psychic Secretions” is just the fourth full-length album in the StarGazer catalog and comes six years after their last album, the brilliant “A Merging to the Boundless.

Rising from the crypts of West German necropolises, SUMERIAN TOMBS play an epic and furious style of Vampyric Black Metal. Their highly melodic yet aggressive music is a deep bow to the second wave of Black Metal which shouldn’t be lumped with the romantic sound of other acts. What we have here is much more ancient, primitive, pervasive, and infernal and this is reflected in a more orthodox and demonic sound.

Their self-titled debut is the follow-up to their demo EP As Sumer Thrones At Night and tells the continuation of an ancient, long-forgotten tale of vampyric wind spirits from Sumerian mythology. The album follows a desperate pilgrim on his journey into the ancient tombs of Sumer, yearning for their hidden wisdom and powers far beyond human imagination.
