This particular collaboration between Vidar Våer and Nidhogg (John Roger Holte) has been crucial for the Norwegian Black Metal scene. They have composed a vast variety of material, including some Ambient gems. The mini-LP Norse, originally released in 1994 as 7” by Nocturnal Art, consists of four Black Metal tracks, among the most significant in the genre. For its 30th year anniversary we are proud to present the first proper LP reissue of Svartfråd, the legendary mini-album composed by Ildjarn and Nidhogg. Originally released by Norse League Productions on MCD, Svartfråd is the essence of the Primitive Norwegian Black Metal which marked an era: as of today, this material is still revered by both old and new generations. Intended to be entitled Gravbergets Svarte Dyp, “The Black Deep of Grave Mountain”, this EP from 1996 sees the light for the first time in its original form with a totally restored layout, never seen pictures found in Nidhogg personal archives and with lyrics transcribed from Ildjarn handwritten originals. Everything is perfectly crafted with a special etching on B side and remastered audio.
